Position Overview

 

Legacy.com is looking for an Associate Test Automation Engineer to join our Technology team. We develop web applications and micro services using popular languages and frameworks such as NodeJS, React, and .NET. We need Test Automation Engineers to help create and execute automated test cases using open source testing and reporting tools like Selenium Webdriver. We coordinate with and provide support for Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support teams to document and track defects in our software until they are resolved. We also assist Engineering and Operations in triaging defects or production issues and to certify production software releases before deployment and after. Ultimately, it is our responsibility to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Create and execute automated test cases using open source testing and reporting tools
  • Coordinate with the Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support teams to write test cases and triage defects or production issues
  • Provide real-time status of test runs for development teams and business stakeholders
  • Summarize test reports over time to track the reliability of both the tests and the greater technology platform
  • Provide timely and ongoing status to your assigned teams
  • Document and track defects in our software until they are resolved
  • Certify production software releases in lower environments as well as production
  • Validate that our platform is performant and scalable on an ongoing basis

Position Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in NodeJS, Python, Ruby, or another similar language
  • Demonstrated experience using a modern web or testing framework (Django, Rails, React, Cucumber, Jasmine, Mocha, Chai, Robot Framework, Selenium Webdriver, etc.)
  • Comfortable in using Linux and/or macOS on the command line
  • Experience using source control such as Git or Mercurial
  • Understanding of the HTTP request/response cycle
  • Experience documenting your work for others
  • Customer/user focused
  • Demonstrated leadership, emotional intelligence, and empathy skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Very high degree of integrity, honesty, and discretion
